    I heard that when you renew your pistol permit every 5 years because of the SAFE act, that it is going to cost $250. Anyone heard anything about this?

    I think it's legal. I haven't read of anything in the safe act that prohibits buying ammunition out of state.

    Yes I was thinking of going to PA for ammo purchases. A few buddies and I have talked about it.

    Has anyone heard how the new backround checks for ammunition are going to work? Since it can take 30-40 minutes to get through a background check for a gun, I'm curious how it is going to work with the long lines and backed up computer systems that are sure to happen. Some people I've talked with think that this part of the law will crash and burn on it's own.

    Did that huge 14-pointer from Niagara county get scored yet? I'm real curious to see what his typical score was.

    The Oswego county buck featured on the Syracuse blog was officially scored at the Sportsman's Expo over the weekend. He netted 185 typical. He is on the home page of the NYSBBC's website: http://www.nysbigbuckclub.com/index.html

    I'm looking fo a shell carrier that slides over a shotgun stock. I've got one, but because of the material it picks up every burdock, pricker, etc. when going through the woods. Anyone have one that doesn't pick up all the junk? I'm putting it on my Savge 220F

    Yes my Dad did enter his in the NYSBBC. He shot his in Livingston County with a handgun. I shot mine in Wyoming county with a shotgun. Both were taken in 2011.

    I know it's a tad late, but here are myself and my Dad's bucks mounted. I just haven't posted on here in awhile My Dad's buck grossed 155 and netted 142 4/8. Mine grossed 115 7/8 and netted 108 6/8.[[

    Let's see the trophies from 2011! Anyone shoot a nice one or have a monster shot in your area? I've seen the Cayuga Heights buck and the Canale buck from Ontario County.
