I do to. Un-recovered deer is one of the toughest things of the sport. If someone can get just a bit of encouragement and/or good advice from forum members, it can reduce those numbers.
Shooting a deer is a lot different than shooting a target. Targets don’t flip to a state of super-high alert, when they catch a glimpse of you drawing your bow. And that target is always in the same place when your arrow arrives as it was when it was released.
Maybe NY state should get with the program and make crossbows legal for all of archery season, and we could cut down a bit on these sad stories.
Remember that non-biased study of deer recovery percentage that Culver posted a few years ago from the military base ? It showed a very significant advantage of a crossbow with mechanical broadheads, when compared to one with fixed blades, or compared to a vertical bow with either type of broadhead.
The other great thing about the crossbow, and not needing to draw with a deer in close, is that you don’t need to hunt from the stratosphere to help hide your draw. How many tree stand fall injuries do we see every year ?
I'm 100 percent in favor of crossbows in regular season, it just makes sense.

I picked up the Millennium M7 Microlite this year. I don't need my seat cushion with it, so 1 less thing to bring in. I think I'll bring the M7 out of the woods in January even if I leave the sticks up because of the soft seat
As far as hang on stands go ,the M7 is the best you can buy.

Trying to work out the wrinkles today Set up in the wrong spot this morning, deer looking at me as I was setting up , wrong tree, 7:15 I had two deer coming at me one gave a 25 shot which I miss. Nock another arrow this time she was about to give a 10 yard shot I lost my balance and she saw me and bolted out there. Working out the wrinkles Good luck to all
The deer were trying to figure out what that contraption was you were hanging from the tree in.

This will be my 31st season of bowhunting and the first year I did absolutely nothing to prep my hunting clothes.

Someone left the empty box at work in one of the control rooms a few years ago and I put just a regular dorito in in.

Same. You can't control inches unless you're willing to travel far or blessed to live in a great genetic area. Age matters most.
That's literally all you care about lol

I’ve never aged a buck or measured the rack , i shoot em and eat ‘em .
Although I do have a measurement system, last years was a 3 X 2 , 3 hour drag , fell twice .
I absolutely hate the talk about inches .

Agree that he is 4.5 to 13.5, somewhere in there. Without the official certificate, 99.3% of WNYers on this forum will say he's 1.5 because he's not 120"
ive sent you pics of the city deer around here,so that being a city deer you would figure it to be much bigger for 4.5

Is that why Marion moved there?

That way he can still hunt without entering the spooky deep woods.

I only shoot swhackers now ,they're junk after they hit a deer but it's a small price to pay when the deer drops in sight.

I would argue that flooding the country with illegals creates more global warming according to them but you know They are hypocrites someone should point that out to them Carbon footprint of an American is 10 times what it is of someone from South America you bring them here you create more pollution by 10× as the illegal will adopted our lifestyle once they get here .
We're dealing with people that used 81 private jets and like 200 vehicles to get to a climate convention, seems a zoom meeting would have maybe set a better example.

Nope these guys want communism let them have it for themselves no mansions for presidents unless they had one before they were president presidents these guys do things that line there Pockets then get 5 or 6 mansions after they screw everything up for the rest of us . You think biden deserves to get even richer after he Messed up ? The 400 K pension they get is good enough . Everything else should be confiscated and go to charity.
Thats the only Communism I support like I said for the politicians. Not going to happen but but it should . Not for nothing trump donated his Is presidential pay to charity. Obama took that and a whole bunch more with all the rest of them . Let them try and get rich with out being in gov first see how hard it is then maybe they will think twice before they do something that Destroy's business .
That's exactly it ,they pass laws and bills that only effects the people voting them in or out . It doesn't change their life one bit. Off topic but sending the illegals to their front door is exactly what needs to happen.
