  1. The thing is I am on top of a mountain. The very top. All the other food sources are at the bottom. My trail cameras only pick up deer say around 12-1 am. So they are not hanging around till morning or even early dusk. So I am trying to change there habits on when they come and go. The food plot is the best way to do that. Now the other thing is the cost of having the plot done. That is the big question.

  2. I am looking to put a food plot in but I 'm researching the cost of it. I know it's not cheap but the benefits are worth it. The only problem I can see is that my neighbors are going to benefit as well.  That means smaller deer are going to be harvested instead of letting them walk.

  3. I agree the food plots are the way to go. I'm trying to figure a cost amount on having my property cleared and how much it materials. Plus having the time is a factor. I'm looking probably to clear maybe 1-2 acres and take it from there. This is going to be my spring project. I'm hoping the to reap the rewards like a nice buck or better yet just holding more deer on my property.

  4. I agree with you that the rut never really seem to take off.  I spoke with a couple of friends of mine in other section and the seem to disagree. I saw more deer while bow hunting then I did rifle. But nothing like last year or the year before. I think in the next years to come I have to plant some food plots to attract more deer and hold them on my property.
