That is a great pic. It's nice to look back and see what hunting was then and what it is now.

Sounds like a eventful night even though nothing was put on the ground. I might try some evening yote hunting. Got to pass the time some how until spring turkey.

I prefer real but with two small girls the fake is the easier of the two.

I also hunt in 4O. I took a doe and a turkey with the bow there this year. The only decent deer I saw was a small six and that was it. It seems like there were less deer this year. I have property off of 23 in Davenport and for a whole week of rfle I was there and the only thing that was taken was a coyote, doe and a spike. What a very disappointing year.

Here is a perfect case where the land owner doesn't appreciate the natural resource he has. It all comes down to money. Which in this day is a major factor with the economy etc. But to destory a whole deer herd from your property is a little much. When it comes to nusiance permits there should be a limit set and the DEC should monitor them better. Those permits can made a big dent on a deer herd in a specific area.

Tail-Hnt, I agree i didnt see much rut activity as ususal. My bow season was better saw more deer and I took a doe and a turkey so that was good. But rifle was just horrible. I might go up for muzzleloader and hope for the best but that is just wishful thinking.

I just got back from hunting in 4F since opening day until today. It was the worst hunting week i've had at my property. The only thing taken was a beautiful blonde coyote and a doe. I've seen a lot of scrapes but no bucks. I didn't even see one doe and I went out every morning and every night for 5 days. Nobody on my road seen much of anything either. Very frustrating when you don't see anything.
