VIDEO: Windy Winter Bow Hunt In The Snow
Jersey Dave replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Deer Hunting
Always enjoy watching your videos archer here and on NJH I am looking for a video partner for this upcoming season the guy that usually video tapes with me from NJH is stripesandsteel but he works at the post office so his time had been limited this year so no video was shot also need a new gorilla arm for the camera. Also do you happen to know where I could find a video camera with a manual focus its hard to get good shots with auto focus on most cameras early season they focus on the leaves instead of the deer -

I lease 200 acres very close to there thats where I shot my 162" ten this year I csn ask the property manager if he has any more parcels available for next season he manages like 5 pieces just outside ithaca great land

I like the 6900 form that was my first choice for my big ten this year but I changed my mind and went with the 6500 very similar just a slightly harder head turn on the 6500. The taxidermist is doing a ton of custom work to the form too. He is cutting the head off and tilting it up a few inches and doing a lip curl on him since thats what he was doing behind a doe when I shot him. He is also building a wall habitat around him and the empty slug shell along with the slug that killed him will be in the habitat since I recovered it inside him. He had the cape rushed back from the tannery so he csn get the mount done before the northeast taxidermy show this spring ao he csn show it I csnt wait to see it. He is also cutting the muscles in the form deeper to show them better

So does anyone have any idea what I need to do to submit the deer to the ny big buck club? I got it officially scored about 2 weeks ago.

You can varmit hunt for groundhogs with anything under 25cal and there is a proposal for 2014 season to allow pellet guns for tree rats and small cal rifles for yotes. But it has been my exsperience that a good slug gun has no issue shooting out to around 250 yards that covers most areas in jersey well.as

Elmo what laws are you refering to. I dont know many insane ones except for our bag limit 7 bucks a year is to much. I love hearing people complain about how they have never killed a wall hanger but they shoot 7 spikes a year. Then if you tell them to pass the small bucks its the same answer if I dont shoot them the next guy will when that is simply untrue I let 30 different bucks a year go by me and see some of them the next year. Thats the chance we take when we pass a deer someone might shoot him but if he makes it he will be bigger.

Savage shotgun private land and just had him officially scored at 161 2/8

Hey guys I am Jersey Dave I have been bow and gun hunting Jersey now for 24 years. I started hunting New York this year up in Tompkins County. You guys have some true giants in your state. We have some good bucks in Jersey but not like NY. I got a few questions for you guys. Have any of you ever submitted a buck to the NYS big buck club. If so what all do I have to send in with the forms. I took a good buck up there this year november 18th and would like to enter it to the club and get in the state book. Thanks for the help all.
