  1. Hey Jrussel, This will be the start of my 3rd season, I'm still very new so by no means am I trying to educate or pretend I can. As far as your price range of $500(I was in the same range) early last season and the pro shop by me set me up with a Bowtech Fuel. The Fuel is very, very adjustable(I plan to pass this down to the Girlfriend at some point soon) here are the specs, draw weight 14-70lbs mass weight 3.4lbs $450 bare $500 r.a.k equipped draw length 18-30" kinetic energy 79.6 axle to axle 31.5 ibo speed 320 fps brace height 7" * Please confirm with others whether this may be good or not and if anyone has any comments on it please message me personally, I'm always glad for some input positive or negative. Good luck and enjoy
  2. Haha I heard in humans it does have the potential to cause violent outbursts and even does something to your throat where it Sounds almost as if your growling. Damn,YouTube video was something to see.
  3. Caught me off guard Culver, also at the time I was chasing a garter snake and was set on catching it, then once in the trailer other then kitchen utensils and pots and pans we were out of luck. I was also like 10 or 12 years old give or take, unfortunately growing up in the city and not having family or friend hunters I wasn't into it at the time. I'm still a hunting virgin! As far as the ACO, only thing I can think of is maybe because it's a condominium community AKA trailer park they don't want to do that. I'm really not sure but to this day the handful of rabies in the community has been dealt with all by catching, haven't even heard of them using tranquilizers. The grey fox this year was caught, accidentally in a bear trap by our main dumpster.
  4. No problem at all, btw seems to be some what common over there (Sussex county). Had 3 other people being treated along with me, all because of bats supposedly. Btw I'm going back like 15 years but at the end of summer this year they caught a yote and a grey fox both tested postive for rabies. I didn't have a run in with them, also last summer had a fox scratch someone, person was fine but fox did test positive.
  5. No biggie I laugh too plus luckily other then a ton of shots I had no pain or symptoms. Guess I was lucky to be unlucky, plus I think your immune for like 7 years after getting the treatment so I could go mess with more crap with no worries lol. That's what you get when you toss a city boy into some woods (north jersey Haha, I know not the best but beats the city!)
  6. Wish I had the whole scene on recorded, good 10 minute fiasco with myself. It's crazy to see, it was going nuts. Tossed over a kerosene lantern and was licking the kerosene. When I finally got into the trailer it was just charging and blasting off of the front glass sliding door, couldn't even tell you how many times or for how long. If I remember it was good half hour and didn't stop until the CO came and it charged him. I told him his little noose wasn't gonna cut it that day.
  7. Haha, I wish I got bit (in some sort of weird way). Long story short damn thing latched onto the tongue and top side of my shoe and I had no socks on and tons of open scratched up bug bites and crap. Damn thing had me held up in my trailer for a couple hours, even had the original sole animal control officer run and lock himself in his truck until more guys came. Finally caught it that day, 44 lbs! Came at me like a little grizzly
  8. I don't think they have a known fact of where it came from. From what I heard they believe settlers traveling with packs of dogs by sleds and what not from Europe. Sorry still doesn't answer your question. When I was a bit younger I had to go through the treatment, woodchuck got me.
  9. Shawnhu, I Don't Think That 3r Covers Any Of Orange County Though I Could Be Wrong. I Was aiming To Get 3m Orange County But The Clerk Messed Up. If Anyone Can Use A 3r Message Me
  10. Hey, I have a 3r and it would be great if I could get a 3s,1c or 3m. If somebody wants the 3r and can't trade it's cool just let me know, don't want the tag to go to waste.
  11. Nice, good times at wolfes pond. Yeah still playing puck and Wiffel ball by you, great to hear lol that's they way it should be. Any idea if wolfs pond will have a freshwater pond again lol
  12. Nice that gateway is open again. Ohhh man your going back in the day with kids playing on the street. That's long gone too lol can't remember last time I saw some street hockey being played. Wolfs pond got hammered during sandy, wasn't even recognizable. Hopefully they can make it nice nice again
  13. Lol your right damore, could be worst lol I talk a lots crap and there is definitely a lot of non sense out there but great people too best part is probably friends with everyone out there that isn't the "great person". Gateway is a nice spot, I grew up I'm eltongville, lots of good times in gateway. Is it still shutdown right now cuz that government crap?
  14. Si definitely has some spots to hunt, but the people suck for the most part and that's in general like others said forget about taking a deer in sight of anyone, it would be a complete shyt show. Grew up on si,26 years couldn't wait to leave lol Btw what happened to all the pheasant, growing up I would see pheasant and rabbits all over Richmond ave around the mall on the side of the dump, haven't seen a pheasant in 15 years over there but now deer are everywhere.
  15. I think only reason I didn't get anything was because I happened to help the cop out back in the day with his aquarium and he recognized me I guess, thank god for those fish lol. Just recently I got a summons for being In the park after dark, gave cop a Sargent PBA card and a staten island borough president molinaro card and the cop laughed in my face lol and wrote me the ticket thus how I know that they write so many bicycle tickets, thats what the court day basically consisted of, crazy the world we live in now. I'm not even 30 so I can only imagine how's it changed for some others on here...
  16. FYI I got stopped in the park(prospect) the other day just with my bow in the soft case and arrows un cut with no heads on them and they busted my chops for a bit. Didn't actually state a law to me but if they can write summons for riding a bike in the wrong direction which they do write a ridiculous amount of them actually, sure as shyt they have multiple summons that they could have hit me or anyone else with. Staten Island is useless for any gear minus some hiking stuff.
  17. Wanna see raccoons, come see me at prospect park. Shyts are bigger then the deer I saw yesterday in 3s, I have a 90 lb am staff terrier and those coons don't move a inch when my dog runs at them in the garbage cans, nyc critters are no joke.
  18. No luck at Staten Island dicks sir, proline it is I guess.
  19. Great, only targets I know is proline, I'll call dicks on Staten Island to see if they carry targets but I doubt it.
  20. Bnola, I'll split cost for parking with ya if you want. Staten Island has a spot too also need to bring your own target but $15 a trip for the the damn Verrazano bridge lol. We both in bk Floyd sounds much better. If possible when you find out details let me know.
  21. Thanks, I took off Thursday to spend the day out there.
  22. Hey, I know it's late into the season for this but I'm just feeling it out for the future. I'm new to hunting, and I live in Brooklyn. I have a couple of friends in 3s that hunt but its not that easy to coordinate with them. Anybody closer to Brooklyn that would possibly be looking to partake when possible. I have no problem traveling a bit if timing is right. I also own a trailer in nj that is about 15 minutes from Orange County and from what I heard there is state land there but I have no information about it. Oh btw I have bow and I'm In the process of going through the nyc process in order to be able to purchase a firearm. Hoping to lease some land next season if a good group forms. good luck out there tomorrow and every other day. Thanks
  23. Hey, I'm a 27 year old male currently living in Brooklyn but lived most of my life on Staten Island. I just recently completed the Bow Hunters Education and I'm scheduled to complete the Hunters Education by the end of September. I'm looking to learn a lot and get out in the woods more often to enjoy the outdoors. I'm a huge animal lover and hobbyist anything from fish to arachnids, basically anything that isn't human lol. I install and maintain aquariums for a living, I grew up having a trailer in Northern New Jersey and spent many, many summers and weekends running around the woods over there catching every possible thing in nature. I am still in the process of choosing a bow for this season, plus I still need to hit a range and practice a lot before I get out there. Hopefully I will speak to and meet a lot of knowledgable cool people on here. Good luck this season!
