on the 21st I was thinking about changing up what I normally do opening weekend last year I harvested my first buck out of a tree stand I had just put up I was thinking instead of hunting the whole day there getting out around 2 and moving to a cove in the corner of the soy field that has a tree in the middle of it my other stand is inside of the woods lots of trails intersecting threw it had a huge scrape that was being hit by everything about 50 yards away
-
So don't hunt the soy in near ? Hunt deeper?
-
November 20tg should it be hunted as peak or post rut ?
-
i been wanting to try it but have been to scared to spook any deer near by plus I don't know when it is most effective rifle opens up nov 20th is that peak rut or post rut? and should I rattle opening day , if so morning or night , hard or soft , should I use curtain scents or calls with it/ I know its a lot of questions just trying to have every mental weapon in my arsenal that I can
-
Yeah he was more gray then brown to it always throws me off
-
if used properly it can condition deer to check it during the day the ones I use drip when the temp rises in the morning a d stop at night
-
U can start soon start off with just doe pee not estrus mix in some mock scrape stuff with it take a stick and scrape a V with it into the ground being sure to fling the dirt back like a deer would the closer the rut get start using a little bit of estrus in
-
Thank you he's my first buck I was so excited I couldn't find him for awhile lol eventually I did and now I'm hoping to harvest another good luck to you as well sir
-
Thank you he was my first buck everyone told me to let him grow but I had to get the monkey off my back of being buckless lol
-
My stand is in a spot like that only downfall I think is that they can come from anywhere
-
I appreciate every hunter input especially since everyone hunts differntly and most have more experience
-
Just didn't know if it was random or if it's somthing that they will continue doing in the same spot I always find scrape have a hard time finding rubs though

-
It's not my property a farmer gave me permission after doing his fences to hunt the land it's a soy bean field with a small section of woods with a ravine in it and more soy on the other side that's the woods I hunt in
-
Last year I found a huge primary scrape the multiple bucks and does used a lot should I look in the same place for that scrape again tho year ?
-
So if a doe walks by harvest her and just let her lay there until afternoon or until a buck comes by ? Or can I field dress her after and then wait

The rifle here opens up nov 20th how would u guys hunt during that time same as u would peak rut?
-
I've had people tell me not to be afraid to harvest a doe before I see a buck even on opening day I personally think it would ruin my chances at one but I still have a lot to learn either way it's meat in the freezer but what's your opinions?
-
I've heard of doing this can I just move it with putting scent on it and also when should I move it a week before rifle opens or a month ?
-
