  1. I don’t usually step in on politics, so I won’t. However I will comment on the current regime. Trump did drop the ball in the beginning. That’s obvious to everyone if you like or hate him. But he’s been gaining ground and working it pretty well recently. Cuomo is so full of double talk it’s not even funny. Both of them screwed up and continue to do so by not implementing more draconian measures, my opinion.  Cuomo said we are not wuhan China. But yet we face an identical threat. Him and trump handled it much different and did not pay attention to lessons learned overseas. I liken it to pay now, or pay double later. We are paying double..,

Home smoked sausage is my all time favorite food, it is my ultimate comfort food.  Its in my blood

You have to try this Sichuan recipe I posted. If you like spicy sausage it’s like nothing you’ve tried before. This batch was pretty good though mrs bundy took it easy on the spice for some reason. Still awesome..

  3. Hate to break it to you guys but Elvis is dead and corona is not manufactured.

The virus did not come from a lab

While there remain many questions about the trajectory of the COVID-19 disease outbreak, one thing is broadly accepted in the scientific community: The virus was not created in a lab but naturally evolved in an animal host.

SARS-CoV-2’s genomic molecular structure – think the backbone of the virus – is closest to a coronavirus found in bats. Parts of its structure also resemble a virus found in scaly anteaters, according to a paper published earlier this month in the journal Nature Medicine.

Someone manufacturing a virus targeting people would have started with one that attacked humans, wrote National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins in an editorial that accompanied the paper.

Andersen was lead author on the paper. He said it could have been a one-time occurrence.

“It’s possible it was a single event, from a single animal to a single human,” and spread from there.

  4. I don’t see gobblers often anymore. This year I’m going to go back out though. Anyone ever hunt out of ladder stand? I also used to blow a woodpecker call as a locator. Was very effective years ago. Anyone use one?

  5. Yes. People go still. If you have access to an old old favorite creek, go for it! They still run at least some. You can still bring a six pack of Milwaukee best and leave in the creek to keep cold. All the old lies everyone used to tell while smelting will be new now. I’m likely going this weekend. Why not.

  6. Los lobos thank you for the informative post. I’d quote you but that was a long ass image!

Some questionable wisdom from (where else) China. Doctors are recommending antiseptic mouth wash to help kill the virus before it takes hold.  I’m not sure my nose could handle it though. I guess it couldn’t hurt to gargle a bit after a grocery store run.

Nice bill. Skunk cabbage is an early food of honey bees. Glad they going to get some chow in this weird weather.

  9. Two of three peach trees are in full bloom right now. Third is on its way. This is early and last time this happened, I lost all fruit. Cherry tree is fat and ready. Apples not showing any color but swelling.  I hear daffodils are out but I don’t have any to verify.

  10. To my knowledge, they are only in creeks sprIng time for spawning. Other than that they are in the lakes. Anyone have different info? Likely Xmas dinner wouldn’t include these unless they were netted in spring and froze. Yes they are smallish silver fish though.

  11. I eat any size,  but try to leave the big ones for breeding.  My smelt creeks have become off limits over the years so now I have one small creek that if I’m lucky I may be able to get handful from. I’m going to try at some point soon. Used to be first warm rain in spring they would run. Been a bit chilly so thinking it’s not quite time.

Also these make good bait, if legal. I’m not sure on that so check before using.

Damn, I better get moving here. Big plans this year after the BS lately .. become more self sufficient. Anyone dehydrate and store, or freeze and store there veggies/fruits etc? Like to be able to grow and sustain some throughout fall/ winter. Have plenty of room to grow, in some great black muck soil.

I do.  Freeze and store. Got lots of apples and peaches frozen. Mrs bundy makes apple rolls. Put cored apples in vitamix or equivalent. Grind to a mush. Add honey from your bees. Mix up. Put wax paper down on your jerky dehydrator trays. Pour on mixture, level and dehydrate per your machines instructions.  I’ve got a ton of this stuff. Can use apple pear peach whatever you have.  Makes great stand or blind snacks.
