  1. I was referring to the fact that majority would like to see a state wide AR as shown by that survey.  Regardless, as I've always stated in the past, in area's witn AR, majority support it.  I'd like to see a state wide AR / management plan, however most importantly, is that AR is in my area, and its better then nothing and it works.

  2. Hunter....take a look at the survey posted in the other thread...you were the one claiming this overall support for AR's...seems like the conclusions on that survey don't suppport teh view you put forth. One good thing...looks like they are entertaining the idea of a statewide survey of all license holders and I would bet money on the results of that one.

Haha... Majority support it in my area based on the older DEC survey and on that survey, thanks for pointing that out though.

  3. Trust me, you don't need help...  These guys need help.  They say they practice QDM, they say they have these monster bucks running around their properties...  Which if its true, thats great...  Guess what? Its not true for the most of us.  They are so dead set against those that want some type of QDM / AR / Whatever you want to call it.    You call them brown its down, they cry  :'( ....  Oh the horror, I can't shoot a spike.    "You can't eat horns", yet they all hunt horns and claim have these monster P&Y's running all over..  ::)

Whats classic is, these guys don't hunt in area's with AR in place.  They talk from ZERO experience.  Ask the guys with AR in their area's and the bucks they have been seeing.    I wish there was a different way to implement AR, however points works for the masses.  Is it the best solution? Nope.  Does it work? Yup.

You want proof? Go to any processor or taxidermist in the AR zones.  Hands down things have changed.

  4. Larry, your the last freaking one that should be talking about others taking classes.  Your the guy that tried to spin numbers by calculating percentages backwards LOL!  Lets go back there - >http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php/topic,108.735.html

    And I quote you

    "i think your numbers for 3j is +11% 3h +30% sorry i'm a numbers guy"

    LMAO!!!!

And you continue to copy and paste BS that others write or you copy and paste from other sites.  99% of what NYAntler says is correct.  He is not stating to kill all the does, he is talking about population control and herd management.

  5. I also forgot to mention all those city folk that buy land, and build on their property.  Hiring local contractors, electricians, plumbers, landscapers, roofers, etc.  Have you ever talked to a "city" person, you'd might be shocked to find they are nicer then you perceive them as.

  6. The city folk are the ones paying taxes and using zero services.... The city folk are the reason that your taxes are not through the roof.  If you don't like the "city" folk, then you should have bought that land yourself.  I hear this crap and it makes me sick.  The city folk post the land because they do not want trespassers, they understand safety, and they want their land respected because THEY PAID FOR IT.

  7. Found a stand on our posted property...very nice ladder stand. i didn't want our stands stolen so I took his down...after I cut his lock....left all the parts at the base of the tree and put on a note to call me if he wanted his rachet straps back...couldn't have him setting it back up the day he found it. It has been in a pile for the last 3 weeks. If the guy was planning on using it for opening morning of gun....boy is he in for a surprise ;D

I guess you don't want to share all those "150" class bucks you see.  ;)

  8. NY...you are so full of it....If you guys like it...great....working for you ....great...My biggest point is it is not NEEDED where others are..and you keep saying you only speak for your area...but then out the other side of your mouth start spewing about a statewide AR...as do others. I see easily over a half dozed deer a year that would break 150 class and very mature. Not to mention a pile between 100-140...get them ...a few...but they are where I hunt. I dont see the problems everyone is screaming about. I guess from my point of view...as I have said before---I hate to see new reg's imposed on others and if it isn't broken here...don't fix it....Seems like every time the regulatory groups get their fingers into something they frigg it up

HAHAHA... I'm full of it? I'll say it again, I speak for my area. It works, period.  You are telling me I'm full of crap because I speak from first hand experience, are you insane or just an ignorant?

Great for you with the 150 class, thats not the norm.  Clearly you don't need AR's in your area. If your seeing all these great mature deer why the hell in gods name would you give a rats ass if there were AR's in your area.  You have all these monsters walking around, then a measly 3 point AR on one side is not going to make ONE BIT OF FREAKING DIFFERENCE FOR YOU OR ANYONE THAT HUNTS IN YOUR AREA!  So stop whining about how AR's are so horrible and go get your 150 class deer that we have yet to see you post.

  9. Nice bucks... How's everyone else doing around your area?

We havent seen alot of movement cause of the winds, but we have all seen deer.  My close group of hunters has already taken 3 nice bucks in the first week.  A couple of guys have been busted by the bucks before taking a shot the others have seen some bucks but nothing they wanted to shoot or the bucks were too far.  So far so good.  Noone has taken a doe yet, they have all been waiting to take a buck. That normally changes after the first week if they havent taken a buck.

So AR's are clearly working in your area and mine?  I thought they do not work, to quote the infamous Steve863, its just a bunch of BS that "Hunting Clubs" pushed on the DEC.    Its funny, are you a part of a hunting club? I'm not.  Nor are the 30 other hunters I personally know and hunt near... They all LOVE AR.  Seems all that hogwash is coming from those who don't hunt in the AR areas.  Kinda funny having a bunch of guys bashing AR's in area's where they don't have AR's don't ya think?  Anyways, nice bucks and let those anti AR guys have fun with their yearlings. It must be so cool to bring a nice 100 pound buck to your butcher to get back 30 lbs of usable meat....  Or if you butcher it yourself, 35 lbs....  I rather have a nice 190-225 pound 2.5 to 5 year old myself...

  10. questions are YOU asking me here??  I am giving my opinion here of what I think would happen if we adopted Ohio's ways and YOU guys are giving yours.  Absolutely NONE of us knows for sure what would really happen.  If you think your opinions hold any more value than mine and are more likely to make hunting better in NY, you can continue believing it to your hearts delight!  All I can tell you is that you shouldn't hold your breath that NY will be adopting Ohio's ways any time soon!

Problem is most of you guys do not want ANY CHANGE period.  As fairgame and other pointed out, you complain about any single change for the better of the hunters, deer, whatever it may be.

You need to realize, you are the minority. Change will happen, I'm just happy at least AR's are in my area, and that will not change any time soon.  I'd be all for adopting Ohio's structure, anything that will better the hunting experiance for everyone. If AR's did not work they would have removed them, guess what, they have not gone anywhere.
