I understand what you are saying, like I said, "if" you live in an area that you can get two DMPs, you can shoot 5 deer. In my area, you are only going to get one DMP, so I can only shoot 4. The DEC "controls" the number of deer taken in the area with DMPs, that is no different in either zone. Also, if they are giving you in the NZ a longer season so you can shoot a deer, then why not in the SZ. I know a lot of people who do not shoot deer every season down here, and they are not "Trophy Hunters". I feel the only reason we have two separate seasons is so people can hunt both areas. I think it has nothing to do with management considerations.
