  10. Back in the stand for afternoon hunt. On other end of property from this mornings sit. After the encounter with the stinky big bodied deer, assuming it was a buck, I decided to try a drag into the stand. We will see, never done it before. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  11. Wow, caught a whiff of stank. Looked it the general direction of said stank, and caught a glimpse of a big bodied deer walking through the thickets around 70 yards. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

  13. This right here is the perfect statement in regards to Hang EM High's comments on the other thread. Most likely, those "mature" 6 points are the same age as the deer ELMO took. 1.5 years. He contradicts his own argument right there. As for me, I want to try and get a healthier herd in my area. I will shoot any doe I see, as our buck to doe ratio is waaaay out of wack. We have way to many doe having twins and triplets. I have seen over the last 5 years the number of nice bucks seen dropping. This year, between all of the neighbors, we only have a couple of nice bucks on camera. We are even seeing less youngsters out there. I have not shot a buck that past two years, and I may be buckless again this year. If the buck numbers start coming back up. I will go back to shooting what feels right at the time of the hunt. If I am stalking a 1.5 year old buck in an open field, I will probably shoot is, as stalking any whitetail in an open field is a trophy to me. If I am sitting on a run that I know a big buck uses, and a 1.5 year old comes in and I cannot even scare it away, I will more than likely pass it up. For me, it all depends on the situation. I am out there for the experiance, not the "trophy".
  14. Wind has pretty much died completely down now. Turning into a nice afternoon. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  15. That's why I am out. Was debating it with the wind, but just have that feeling. Let's hope it is correct. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  16. Back to our regularly scheduled "LIVE FROM THE WOODS". Sitting in a tree, hope the wind stays like it s now. Not to bad right now. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  17. Man, those old nanny doe can be tough ones to shoot. Had a stare down with one for 15 min. She just ended up walking away without giving me a shot. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  18. Best meat in the freezer right there. Congrats. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  19. Put this blind up in the rain yesterday for crossbow/gun season. With the wind this morning, figured I would just sit here and see what happens. Pretty heavily traveled trail 20 yards out. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  20. Very calm and quiet out. Could here a pin drop. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  21. Finally made it back out into the woods. Pretty windy here in 7P. Wind is swirling, kinda sucks. Decided not to sit in my best stand due to the swirling winds. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  22. Well, got my first "busted by a doe" incident in for the season. Ugh, hard to see with all these leaves. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  23. In the stand. Walked right up on some bedded doe on the way in Turned around and went different way. They never moved. Hopefully they will walk by a little later. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
