  1. Yeah, it was way more fat than I thought there would be this early. It was a process, but I managed to get it done. Took off a couple hours of work to get it done I didn't want it hanging when it's 70 degrees outside. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  2. I got my first buck with me bow, have been bow hunting for about 8 years and have only been able to get shots at doe's. He was about 15 yards when I took the shot, I hit a little higher than I would have liked but he still went down. He ran about 50-60 yards before going down. Thankfully I heard him go down as there was not blood trail, a nice big exit hole but no blood until the spot he went down. I have to go out and look for the arrow a little more I wasn't able to find it at the time. The picture isn't the greatest, it was getting dark and I wanted to get him dressed and hung as soon as possible. He's a 9 point, it didn't look like anything was broken off, just didn't grow the same on both sides. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  3. I've followed this form for a long time, never really have posted but thought I would this morning. After a stressful beginning season my first first child was born a few weeks before rifle season opened over a month premature and a lot of driving to and from the hospital (about 2hr drive, they wouldn't let us stay at the hospital) and bringing my son home at under 4lbs didnt leave much time for hunting and when I did have time to get out the conditions weren't great. But I'm glad to say I was able to get out and connect with a doe to put a little meat in the freezer. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Weather station was definitely wrong today. In 9R, Called for snow today and no wind. Got into the stand about 15 min ago and the wind picked up and is rain/snow mix. Hopefully the wind will die down. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Have any of you shot a deer where the arrow stayed in the deer and no blood trail? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. In the last 15 min temperature went from 41 down to 34. Hopefully something will start moving. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. $20 for you to stay the night in the small room and film it. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  8. I've already lost count of how many shots there have been... Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. Pretty windy here. Only things out right now are crows... Hopefully something changes here. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. All quiet in 9J. My weather app said winds to the north about 8mph. Winds are now coming Southwest and closer to 20mph. And to add to everything I can hear thunder off in the distance. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  11. I was hoping to try to get a deer with my .44 revolver this year but I'd actually have to see a deer to do that. I might just have to settle for a squirrel with the .44 that's all I've been seeing lately.
  12. Didn't see a single deer for the AM hunt. Trying out a different piece of land that I haven't hunted but once this year. Sitting on the corner of a cut hay field hoping something decieds to come out close enough. Last time I watched this field the deer all came out close to 300 yards away.
  13. Finally made it happen today and got a small 6. I was tired of waiting for the "big" one I needed something the the freezer and he was the unlucky one that walked by. Now time for a big doe.
  14. I've seen countless squirrels and woodpeckers but that about it. I was tempted to shoot a squirrel because it was black with a white ring around its tail but I figured a 7mm-08 is a little big.
  15. Anyone else on here hunting the Chautauqua county area?
  16. 58 and light rain and no movement at all. Saw 2 other guys hunting both just sitting in stands. Nothing is moving here unless it's getting pushed...
  17. Had a late start this morning. I had to switch to my back up rifle my main 308 was leaning up against some stuff (unloaded) and it got knocked over. I didn't want to chance the zero being off. Any else ever do this? And did it hold its zero or did you have to sight it in again? The scope is a Bushnell elite.
  18. Nothing moving here, in Chautauqua Co. Mid 40's with 15-20 mph wind. Have heard 1 shot and it was a long ways away.
  19. 30 and high winds until about 8. Hopefully today goes better than yesterday. Good luck and be safe. Remember ID what you are shooting and what's around it. A 33 year old hunter was shot by a 17 year old who was aiming at a doe. Luckily it's non-life threatening injuries.
  20. Haven't heard any shots since about 930 and haven't seen anything since 1030. Its pretty dead in 9J not even seeing any squirrels. Wind is starting to pick up and there is a winter storm advisory in effect until Monday morning. Calling for 6" tomorrow, then Wednesday the temp is back to 50. This weather is killing my season.
  21. 1 more hour of work then heading hopefully the right stand, right now its 35 degrees clear skys and 8-10 mph ssw winds. Hopefully everything goes how its supposed to. Good luck!
  22. No rain here, very little wind temp in the low 40's deer should be moving. But nothing is moving besides squirrels... Should have left the bow behind and taken the 22.
  23. No rain here, very little wind temp in the low 40's deer should be moving. But nothing is moving besides squirrels... Should have left the bow behind and taken the 22.
  24. Not much moving in 9J. Saw one before it was light walking to my stand. And my dad had 2 come in behind him as he was taking his jacket off. I thought movement would have been better this morning.
  25. Just getting out of work after a 10 hour night, but I have an east wind about 5mph and have been seeing deer moving all night. Just itching for my relief to show up so I can get out to my stand. Should be a good morning. Good luck all!
