It usually doesn't take that long Tyler. The banders are pretty good with submitting records. If I remember correctly, I got the information the same day as my report last year. No bands yet this year.
-
Good luck on your hunt. I think I am hunting my blind on Saratoga Lake this coming Friday and maybe a little swamp on the weekend.
-
Nice Job Tyman. You can report it online and print your certificate. I use better quality parchment paper for the certificate.

Gas near me is $3.30/ gal. I don't think the upcoming elections have anything to do with it. Anybody been looking at the stock market lately?

Oh I am still recovering from that hunt. I figure I should be fully recovered by 4:00 am tomorrow. I don't bounce back like I used to 5 years ago. The golden years are not all that golden

Good point Lawdwaz. I enjoyed the hunt, the 2 am get up was a little tough. Had to take a nap when I got home. I'm going to hunt the Saturday opener around here. I can sleep in at least until 4:00 am

Got up at 2 am. Went duck hunting with my buddy Steve. He killed a hen woodie. End of story..... We saw a lot up birds but they were flying high and did not want anything to do with our set. Water was very low. Hunted out of the boat blind, no dog just Steve ;>)

Heading to Lake Champlain early tomorrow morning for opening day with one of the New York Outdoors pro staff members. Bringing the GoPro. The weather is not supposed to be to great but......it's the opener.....

Nice job guys

Nice drake woodie Tyler. I had one mounted about 25 years ago and it still looks great. Great looking pup.

Great Pics. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Mike, I kind of knew that. Just wanted to let people know that I saw some migrators. Good information for Newbies though.

Temperatures in the 80's today and believe it or not I heard some migrators while cleaning up the garden. Figures..... the September season ended on the 25th. Putting the blind up on the lake Tuesday. I'll brush it in and then do a little worm drowning.

Sounds like you guys were on the X. We killed a few but were not on them. We'll get into them the start of the fall season. Sounds like you have a good group of hunters. If you need an old fat guy to keep you company let me know.
-
How did you guys do this past weekend? We did not see a lot of birds but got 5 on Saturday. I hunted alone on Sunday. Should have stayed in bed. Only had one goose come in and I killed it.

Good Luck.. Hope you limit out

Most of them were the new Green head gear. There were about a dozen DSD's mixed in. The GHG looked pretty good.

We actually went light on the decoys. Early season we run anywhere from 12 to 36. Regular season any where from 60 to over 100.

Here is a short video of our hunt yesterday. Not a lot of birds in this area but it was fun.

Good luck. I am heading out tomorrow to hunt a grass field with one of the New York Outdoors pro staff. It has been a dead zone here for the past week and a half. If nothing else, we can shoot some fill in footage.

Heavy Steel 3" #2 early goose, BB for migrators. Winchester 3" #2 for puddle ducks over decoys.

Great Vids Tyman. Looking forward to this weekend. Bringing the GoPro

Thanks Dan.

Heavy fog this morning and humid. My cousin Joe met me at the house at 4:30 am and we headed to the field. Had a small group of 8 come in and my cousin killed two out of that group. He is no longer a goose virgin. We had two more groups come into the field and we wound up with a total of 8 birds. Picked up at 8:30 am as it got too hot to hunt. Great early opener. I think Joe has the goose bug now. He is talking about getting his own lay out blind.
