  1. Thanks so much, Bill! I've found a lot of support here on the forum. I'd LOVE to eventually go turkey hunting and use a bow. I see that down the line for me. I'd love a seminar! I'll check out that YouTube. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

  3. That's pretty much it, steve863!
  4. Well, it isn't an article in Field & Stream, but rather a short article for the NY Post. That being said, I think it's meant as a more general article for city folk. But a nice read-through.
  5. He talked about his wife once on a podcast and I believe he said she is a book editor and he met her (I suppose in NYC) when she was editing one of his books or maybe it was just for some of the many things he writes.
  6. Looks like Rinella made it into the pages of the NY POST today! http://nypost.com/2015/11/19/why-i-hunt-for-my-thanksgiving-dinner-and-you-should-too/
  7. I just picked up Rinella's books and for a beginner like me, these books are FANTASTIC! I was expecting to simply read a cookbook and learn some butchering techniques, but Rinella goes in-depth on every aspect of hunting, from gear to tactics & strategies to yes, some great recipes! I'm loving these books and reading them thoroughly. BRAVO! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  8. I would have to buy a cantilever mount for the receiver then, right? I believe the 835 I was handling didn't have a mount there. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  9. Belo, your red dot is mounted on your receiver rather than your barrel. Do you like that better? Same accuracy? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  10. Here's another question, what is the difference between Adjustable Fiber-Optic barrel and Fiber-Optic & Scope Base barrel?
  11. What does it mean when the barrel is bored out? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  12. That's the price I'm looking at, Belo. $550. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  13. At this local shop, I can get the gun with additional barrel for $550. Sound reasonable? The scopes I looked at were reasonable, under $100. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks everyone. To be clear, I'm a newbie to hunting and shooting. I'm taking this time to research what type of 12 gauge I'm gonna get, save up for it and buy it around February, shoot for awhile at the range to get really comfortable with it, hopefully make some hunting buddies and go out with people next fall. I only really want to do deer for now and maybe in the coming years, expand to turkey, duck and maybe even bear! So what I'm understanding is that this is a great gun, even though it's primarily for turkey/waterfowl birds as long as I get the rifled barrel for slug, correct? And when I am ready for turkey, I'll be more than set. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  15. So good for deer then? I was checking out scopes and dots that go along with it. So fun learning about all this, for a newbie like me! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
