  1. I saw the advertisement on tv last night. It showed a great white in slow motion leaping out of the water with a seal in it’s mouth. Pretty impressive.
  2. Just saw the first poult of the year. With all the turkeys in the neighborhood , it’s kinda depressing that this is the only poult I’ve seen. Hate to think how many she lost.
  3. You have great weather for making your wax dirt today. Follow the directions and it comes out great. Just make sure none of your sweat falls into the dirt....it’ll be contaminated. Best of luck !
  4. Just picked the first tomatoes of the year. Jets Stars , Lemon Boy , Large Cherry and Grape.
  5. Watched the Yankees vs. Mets game yesterday. Strange to say the least. Pisses me off that every year someone on the Mets gets hurt in spring training. If I owned the Mets , I would fire every athletic trainer and strength/ conditioning coach on the team. Rant over. Lol
  6. Just saw 6 hens in my yard and none of them has any poults. I haven’t seen any poults this year. Kinda sad. The bearded lady likes the bird bath.
  7. I've always had good luck during heat waves with my tomatoes as long as it's not a prolonged heat wave. A few days is good enough for me. However my garden doesn't get full sun and I make sure that their watered. As far as watering goes , just stick your finger in the soil. That should tell you if it needs to be watered. I'm no farmer by any stretch of the imagination , but it's just my observations over the years of having a vegetable garden.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion crappyice....... maybe I will. But I think I better leave well enough alone for now. Some of the things I've posted in the past are funny to me but may be borderline offensive to others. I should count my blessings that I haven't been kicked to the curb yet. Thank you for the kind words.
  9. Just a suggestion.....I use fluorescent paint on the handles of some of my trapping supplies. When I make a set I have a bad habit of laying the tool on the ground instead of putting it back in the bucket or pack basket. Saves a lot of time walking back to the previous set to look for it. I already had to replace a stake setter.
  10. In case anyone wants to plant garlic this fall . https://keeneorganics.com/
  11. The local forecast is calling for a heat wave starting Saturday. Good for the tomatoes.
  12. Thanks for the kind words......I've just about reached my attachment limit (again). It gets to be a pain in the ass to go back and delete attachments so that I can post more. Any suggestions?
  13. Congrats on the MB550's....those beauties practically bed themselves. I see in the photo you have the "Groundhog" digging tool. You can dig the trap bed , pound the stakes in and dig the dirt hole with it. Now you'll only have to carry 1 tool instead of 3. The head of the hammer takes a beating but it will hold up. Good luck this season.
  14. Here's an easy recipe for those who love cucumbers. Simply called "Cucumber salad". Ingredients : 2 cucumbers peeled and sliced half medium Vidalia onion 1/2 cup white vinegar 2 teaspoons of sugar 1 teaspoon of Kosher salt 1 teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper 1 clove of garlic finely minced 1/2 cup of water I put mine in clean Mason jars and refrigerate. Lasts a long time and goes with anything.
