Winter rye. I think winter wheat is better and triticale is also an option. I can always find rye, wheat or triticale not so much. If your ph is good oats are the best draw. Once again wti has an oats mix that kicks ass.

If you can't spray glysophate frost seed clover. In September top seed with grains.
If soil is crappy buckwheat is a great soil builder.
Wti sells a great chicory clover blend that you could also seed early.

Coyote as a guess.

Hunting a night right before a heavy rain has been successful for me especially.

Wind aint happening without changes in barometric pressure. I think critters are aware on some level of dropping pressure, and are more active before fronts come in. Rising pressure after a change...not so much, but the critters are moving because the weather is better allowing it.
As far as me hunting...I will try like heck to be out before and after a front, and will hunt in breezy conditions, but not once the trees start swaying and branches falling. I love to hunt the sloppy weather. It has treated me well over the years. As an aside...I certainly hunt according to the wind direction. There are times deer dont seem to catch me, but they have enough times that I plan around it.
This is very accurate from my experiences.

Once again a great story. So cool to see a father and son pass down hunting.
I will always be blown away by numerous forum members putting other hunters first, very cool.

An owl hooting. The owl is my spirit bird. There have been times when I'd hear an owl telling me to be ready, and I'd have a successful hunt. My grandmother was full blood native American. When I was young, she'd take me to the reservation in NC. It was there I learned about the owl being my spirit bird. And how the ones we loved, come back to greet us on the wings of the owl. There is no better sound in the woods for me.
There is a breeding ground for owls 50 yards from my house. The noise is insane almost sounds fake it's so loud. You would love it.

No pictures but we went to Restruant X in Congers last night for our anniversary. We have been trying to go for years but something always pops up. Same owner as Xaviers on the Hudson in Yonkers.
I had lobster and shrimp casserole with puff pastry for my appetizer and duck breast with blood orange sauce with pearl cous cous. So good.

Will do. Wonder if brassica needs to be rotated out every few years
Frost seed clover then in September top seed with rye or wheat. Leave it for two years or more depending on your goal. This will add nitrogen and organic matter to your soil. Clover has lots of tonnage. I use wti clover for small areas and for larger areas red clover.

So cool Gman awesome job your all class.

Yeah wind definitely allows for sound cover. So many variables depending on how, where, and when your hunting. Temp drops definitely run hand in hand with high pressures.
Agree phade over 30.0 and I'm in the woods even if I'm in a light rain or snow.

I always see wind being a huge consideration as it should be but for me I pay more attention to barometric pressure.
Anyone else? When I can get high up a tree I never feel like I get winded but I also take very good care of clothing and other things that can bust me. I think the pressure has more to do with movement then moon cycle as well. Am I crazy?
Besides wind what are your most important hunting factors?

He made the roster but not sure if he's playing.

I'll be up at my cabin for the first week. Might hunt with my recurve haven't decided yet. If not I can fill the freezer with a crossbow. For me this is always a good week activity wise upstate.

In the last hour I watched a fisher then this hawk (that buzzed my head) try to end this red squirrel. Pretty cool. Hawk is on the log 10 yards.
