Hello All, That season is upon us once again where off season prep is in full swing. This past weekend, i started the process of clearing spots on my 90 acre parcel for a grand total 3 acres worth of food plots. With a mixture of brassicas, oats and winter rye intended for the plots, i started the clearing process this past weekend. A little background on the property: 10 acres of woods, 75 acres of old overgrown cow pasture with goldenrod, dogwood, honeysuckle and breyers and 5 acres of apple trees. After deciding where to put these plots, we cleared each plot starting with our old faithful 1960 ford tractor with a 5' brush hog. The next day allowed us to spray all three plots with glyphosate. With our planned mixture for the plots, we don't anticipate tilling and planting till the end of july/beginning of august. Because these plots are brand new, does anyone have any suggestions on how to break ground? We are questioning if the tiller is sufficient enough to the till all three acres, or should we turn the ground over with a single plow. Also, with all the brush roots still intact within the ground, should they be pulled or can the single plow/tiller ground them up? Any info/experiences will help tremendously. Best

hey buckstop, I hunt wellsville every year. was down there this weekend and was a little confused on the action. I had a monster 10 chasing a doe and stop 65 yards out and stare at me for 10 min straight. after that, bucks we all by themselves. Found myself an area where 5 major trails converge. Hope to be sitting on them this weekend.

Being a millennial, i would have to agree with this statement. Going through a masters program for architecture exposed me to the true millennial's you talk about. I was the only student in my class with any background in construction at all. I framed custom homes for 6 years while in school and i can count on one hand how many students in my architecture class of 65 have touched a hammer let alone what to do with it. Pretty sad. Oh and i actually start my job at 6:30 am everyday. Get in early to get out for an extra half hour in the stand.

I'm relatively new to bow hunting so im still kind of new to the scents and stages of rut, but i've only ever seen one instance where the drag behind and hangers work. Last year, i witnessed my buddy setting up his scent trail on the last weekend in October. He stops before entering the woods, takes out his ever-calm and puts it on his boot. Then grabs a couple felt sticks, puts buck and doe urine on them. 1 to drag behind, and 2 to hang. After watching him do a figure 8 in shooting distance, he sets the hangers up. As he gets to the bottom of the ladder, we both hear a rustle, look to our left, a doe is running from the field into the woods with a 6 pt hot on it's tail. As we are in shock of this happening, the buck stops mid stride and looks back, we look as well and a massive 14 typical 130 class comes trotting through right behind the first two. Then the 6 pt looks directly at my buddy and charges him full sprint and stops no joke 5ft away from him. Lifts his nose and bolts it as the 14 pt follows the doe. Heart was racing harder than when we see that trophy standing in the shooting lane. crazy!!

Hey guys, im interested in what scents you guys swear by? I use code red's doe piss for a drag behind on the walk in. buck piss for about now when they are sparing and then the estrus in the next couple weeks. Just curious what has worked for anyone in the past. Please feel free to share any stories. Good luck.

I know where the ladies are bedding on that property, so im going to hunt my two hot spots late October right up to shotgun. Dont wanna spook them early.

I just moved into this house in april. Found out there's 2 peach trees, 5 apple trees, one beautiful pear tree (camera is facing 3 apple trees and the pear tree. Camera is attached to the chestnut tree) They are only coming around in the middle of the night. Hope to have one come by early in the morning or late in the evening. Whats you guys opinion. They gunnna come around other than dead of the night?

Thats amazing!!!!!. We have deer running around our property just like him. Seen him everyday the last couple days of bow and earlier in November and trail cams, he must have went into hiding once the gun shots started. hope to have your luck this weekend. Cheers
