  9. my name is mike, i live in lockport. i am a newbie here and to hunting. when my mother passed away 2 years ago , my father asked if i would like to hunt with him. and i did. i have not harvested anything yet but the first year with work i did not get out more than 2 o3 time. this year from opening bow to last day of muzzleloader i was out every day that i could, i think i only missed 2-3 days. shot a few only to be taken by neighboring land owners. that is a story in its self i may share once the anger is gone. I look forward to several new friends and possible hunting buddies. overall i am a one-liner type of guy and fortunate to have a wife that hunts also.
  10. ha that is the same way i got my kids to eat it , now they can't get enough . for the pass few days i heard "dad when are you going to get some venison" i created monsters ;D
  11. 1) make sure you have a good hit when you shoot. Short story lost a nice 10 pointer cause shot was not as good as i wanted , ran like a bat out of hell then dropped. after i get to where it dropped atv tracks in and out and no deer. 2) do not track too soon, as you will push deer and maybe on a property where land owner sits and wait for your harvest . Had eco come in and check things out , but still no deer. worse yet was not even to his property line yet so now i will be taking the second shot to drop the deer in his tracks
  12. With the season coming to an end, equipment being used. If you are still afield what are you using Muzzleloader, or bow? For the pass week i have been out with my bow, thursday just missed(short) a nice buck at sundown. Was planning on going out today with the muzzleloader but was have major pain from a broken toe , so stayed in(what a mistake from what i have read and heard) . I will wrap the to up really good for tomorrow and head out. To those still hunting GOOD LUCK and happy hunting . Just remember a good hunt in not just a harvest , but experiencing the outdoors and natures wonderful creations.
