  1. My 5 year old grandaughter has been begging my son and I to take her out hunting with us. Well today she got her first set of camo clothing and couldn't wait to get it on. I guess we will be adding another chair in the duck blind and ground blinds this next season. I'm overjoyed that she wants to get into hunting and am looking forward to taking her with us.

  2. Here's my most recent pic of my yellow lab Waylon. That was taken 4 days ago on New Years Day. There were 6 of us out hunting that day which was the last day of duck season. He had a ball retrieving all those ducks. Everyone who has seen the pic remarks on how proud he looks.

  4. The 3 of us got out this morning for a late season hunt. 3 birds came in and 3 pounded the ground. Another 3 man quick limit. 3 is our lucky number and our buddy who took the pic is our good luck charm. That's my son's dog Gunner who is 11 months old now and who I have been training this year. Another day to remember.       valoroutdoors.com

I have a Rem 7400 308 for my son. It was my Dad’s rifle, so it’s special to him. My Dad didn’t take great care of it, it has maybe 10 rounds through it and is pitted everywhere because he left it in his attic. We are tearing it down and sending it out for Cerakote soon. I’ll get some reduced recoil loads and an adjustable stock to fit it to him correctly.

I think it's great that he will be getting his grandfather's rifle. I gave my son my dad's shotgun. Just be aware that the rifle may not cycle with reduced recoil loads as they were not designed to be used in semi rifles. The cerakote process will make the gun look new and will prevent future pitting. Best of luck to him.        valoroutdoors.com

  6. This is a half mount of my black bear I took with my crossbow a couple of years ago. I really like the half mount and I chose to have one with the mouth closed. I paid less than 4 figures for my mount but I will agree that you get what you pay for when it comes to quality of the mount. However you decide do not skimp on quality. You may never get another bear worth mounting and the memory of your hunt is priceless.       valoroutdoors.com

  7. Absolutely a Yea. There are the same advantages that apply to lighted compound bow nocks. I have taken several deer and a black bear with my crossbow with lighted nocks and the lighted nocks have made retrieval of the crossbow bolts very easy.      valoroutdoors.com

You are correct. The bolt hit shoulder guts then again guts. No vitals. Shot at 8:00 dead at 2:00. 7 hrs. Too long for a deer to suffer. I was thankful to have a second shot at her. She could not get up and I put her down. Thank you, yes not a great shot-I get it. Lesson learned.

I am sure your daughter was very pleased when you let her know that you retrieved her deer. I commend you for going back and searching for the deer. Your daughter has a great father and I'm sure you were elated when you found the deer.     valoroutdoors.com
