  1. Baiting wasn't always legal in NJ, only recently... My 15 point non-typical was not taken over bait with the bow And this buck was not taken over bait So what was the difference? I can't tell ya, they all taste the same! Maybe Uncle Ted has the answer for ya!
  2. You are allowed 1 buck for each bow season- fall bow, permit bow and winter bow... there is no bag limit on deer! THE BACKSTRAP STATE!!!!
  3. Impact shots from NJ hunts... gotta love those lighted nocks! BOW HUNTING- "SUDDEN IMPACT"
  4. Go for the Parker Tornado. Does Excalibur have a anti dry fire trigger? Parker has it... I actually thought I would never really need it, I mean what idiot would shoot their x-bow without a bolt loaded? right? Well, yours truly almost did it, I shot a buck and when I got to it it was still alive, so I cocked the crossbow before I went up the hill to finish it off, when I got up there I put it in the scope and "click", I looked at the x-bow... oops, with all of the excitement I forgot to load it... I would recommend the anti dry fire, it saved my x-bow! Don't get the Enforcer, I have it, very loud and I just shot it with the new Parker suppressor kit that is supposed to quiet the x-bow... I didn't notice any difference IMO.
  5. I have a Parker Enforcer, it is very loud and the deer jump the string because it is so loud (I aim for the heart and hit them in the lungs), I would not take a shot over 30 yards with it... but I did just get the new string suppressors Parker released for it to help with the noise, I have not shot it with them yet... so no feedback for you there. Crossbow arrows are called "bolts" and I use the Lumenok bolts... but I have also shot the Easton Razer bolts and they both fly the same. If I was going to buy a new X-Bow today, I would get the Horton Vision, it is balanced better and it is much quieter. I watched every deer drop with the crossbow, I shot 7.
  6. Thats NJ! No big deal, certain areas of NJ have population problems, that is why there is no bag limit on doe... all the bait does is give you a great shot so they don't run through the yards where the kids and anti's are if ya know what I mean... but bait, don't really mean anything, I was in the double digits yearly before it was legal, never thought about it until they legalized it.
  7. Get this, I forget the state, they require you have your name and address on arrows... may have been New Hampshire or Vermont... I thought that was really crazy, sounded like the Obama garbage when they were saying bullets were going to be numbered or coded so they could track it to the owner... but with my videos and the youtube name I have is TheFieldArcher, I am going to put that on the wraps, not my actual name... but Bob or John, that would be okay...
  8. It has been 5 years since I bow hunted, it was an amazing season, hope you like the video! Thanks for watching!
  9. Ends Saturday 2/19. I am trying, I just got a sponsor for custom arrow wraps, very cool, I will post them when I get them, you can get your name on them if you want!
  10. Still a lot of fun too! Self video hunts are a blast, holding your bow with one hand and working the camera with the other adds a whole new dimension, the added movement with the camera is a challenge... making sure the lighting is correct when they show up, if they move towards the sun you have to adjust the light again... all while you try to stay undetected. Check this one out, no bait, just you, your bow and you gotta try to keep the target in the camera!
  11. No problem, I had a friend that hooked me up with a guy that was over run with deer, a huge development that the houses are on 5 acre lots, the perfect deer breeding ground... you can't gun hunt because of the 450' law... but you could bow hunt it with the new 150' bow law... there is no limit on doe in NJ, I harvested 25 deer, donated a bunch to the NJ Hunters Helping The Hungry program, a lot of men and women coming back from Iraq are showing up at the food pantries because of the economy and not being able to find jobs and this program is awesome because it help our veterans, a nice way to say "Thanks for the freedom!" and you are helping to manage the deer problem, win situation for everyone!
  12. I hear that, but this is the problem where the vids are from: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/01/morris_county_removes_1634_car.html Now Texas on the other hand, they don't hide their bait piles and they are out on mega acre ranches... interesting to see the different hunting around the country.
  13. That is from NJ, think there is a population problem there? lol
  14. That is legal in NJ, new law allows bow hunters to be 150' from a house, a bait pile stops the deer and allows you to make the perfect heart shot like you see in this video so families don't have Bambi running across their yard while the kids are playing in the front yard. Heavily over populated area, last month another person was killed in a deer/auto accident...
