BizCT
I don't bowhunt, but I will be hunting 3N during the shotgun season and late ml/bow season with my crossbow. Good Luck. I think it will be a good year because of the very mild winter we had.
Napping in the woods
A few shots in the Fahnstock/Cold Spring area today, I only saw 3. However, I did see a beautiful red fox try to stalk and pounce a gray squirrel...twice!! Of course, that was after I watched shooting stars during the 5 am hour. Great day, regardless of low deer sightings. I've only lived here a year now, but I still find it hard to believe all of this happens an hour or so north of NYC. BrianNY
Heard lots of shots in the cold spring area today. Was out on 2 different properties all day. Didnt see a thing until 4:30pm. Shot a medium sized doe at 15 yards with the shotgun. Brian
the blur
15 yards is CLOSE !!!!!!!!!!!! How do you stay so quiet not to scare them off ?
BrianNY
15 yards? You kiddin', last year I shot a big 6 pointer ( my first deer ever), at less than half that! lol. Same stand for both deer. Its a homemade wooden stand. Had to stand up and shoot offhand for both shots. I just move slowly and as quiet as possible. Although this years doe was probebly closer to 20 yards. Edited November 19, 2012 by BrianNY
