Syracuse.com - Angler lands big smallmouth bass on St. Lawrence River

Recommended Posts

It was caught just off the shoal in front of his cottage.

Chris Cote holds up a nice, fat smallmouth bass (5.25 pounds) that he caught and released recently while fishing on the St. Lawrence River (off Wolfe Island, on the Canadian side).

He caught it on a plastic worm. He was fishing with his father, Dick Cote.

He wrote: "Fish was caught in 5 feet of water, just off the shoal in front of the cottage. Jumped 3 times before being netted!!! Spectacular fish!!!!!! "
