Santamour123
I was looking for info on hunting in Wellesly Island State Park. Any info on how to get a permit and where to hunt and with what? Thanks.
Four Season Whitetail's
I hunted there years ago and it was bow only!!!!I amnot sure if it still is but i can tell you that at that time i believe they were inbred on the island!!I mean there were times i would have 4 or 5 fawns come by and they were still in spots....In November!!!....Not good at all and most all the deer were skinny and small!!!! It might be different now and i have heard of some decent bucks taken on private land but never on the park itself.
ADKSasquatch
Yes I do. You get your permit from the park office. Still bow only as far as I know. A few years it was muzzleloader too, but I guess I got too good . As for where to hunt... I'm not telling. I've got some really good spots. Typically I take does. There have been some really nice bucks, but nothing "super duper". Good luck.
outdoorstom
I was stationed on Wellesley Island with the Coast Guard. One of my buddies shot a nice 8 pointer about 100 yards from the station. There definitely seemed to be a lot of deer on the island.
