growalot
I go to see my surgeon for the first time.....the knee is not liking this weather ...OK so that's being optimistic in regards to my not having done a bit more damage.....but I am holding firm on no surgery until after...the first week in gun season....Thinking of going with...deer hunting will just force me to rest the knee for hours at a time...unlike all spring and summer...and I promise to call for help should I shoot a deer...Hope he's a hunter..... ants
Any idea how long recovery will be? Just thinking that you could do it now and by gun season be able to maybe at least hunt ground blinds. ?????? Good luck.
growalot
Thanks...I'd rather miss gun than bow season....I'm not sure what he'll decide as far as how the surgery is done...my Dr said it was a nasty tear...but I have been able to get all my work done this summer and just finished putting up my new 16ft XL deluxe ladder stand by my self...so it's still working...sore but manageable...it only pops now when going up and down stairs...which we have a lot of....maybe camping out on the couch soon..lol
growalot
Phew ...just got back...it's a go...I have until after the first week of gun season...need to call and let them know those dates...then it's a physical...blood work...anesthesiologist apt and surgery...then a 3+ month recovery...It is a very nasty tear but I promised no twisting... lifting weight ....squatting...or chasing turkey over hill and dale (his words)...I told him I had plenty of ground blinds and the enclosed ones are fairly low and I can put a heater in with me...I have arthritis in that knee...not bad yet...no surprise with all the past injuries...he said he'd have me in the fishing kayak in no time...he owns one....lol Good to be alive...a tractor trailer pulled out in front of me from a scenic over look in Honeyoe ...my car jolted to a stop half a car length from the trailer...when she saw me ...she stopped for a second then rushed out farther stopping again.......I'm thinking to avoid me hitting the cab...scariest part was looking in the rear view to a wht jeep coming at me like it wasn't going to stop...WTH! good thing there weren't kids in the car...they would have learned several new word...Glad I'm home and hunting season starts in a week....
