So im walking up a woods road and dragging my gear behind me and i decide to walk up a woods road to see if its a shortcut to a spot i would like to hunt, didnt get to far up as it started to curve in a different direction and decided i would check it out further some other time.

i get back to where i dropped my gear and what do i see a nice either doe or button buck, couldt tell at the time, but man that thing had a nice body.

after being dumstruck with suprise for a few seconds start to get in closer nice and slow, im not sure on the distance so i pull out my call and do a buck call. and it immediatly moves out of view.

when i move out i find a new scrape on the road not 50 yards from where i had  ultimately decided to set my stand after seeing the deer.

saw some decent action from a few deer about 100 to 150 yards away, though when i pulled out my binoculars i dropped my gatorade from 20 feet up and scared em off. go figure, didnt see anything else all day.

i left alot of scent in that area so im hoping if i hit it up first next week rather than later in the day i will get a shot at something

on a side note, i learned that windy days and 20 feet up in a treestand are scary as hell till ya get used to the swaying, even the big buggers swing, something you never notice till up in a tree i guess.

Surf was up last weekend - the wind can chill your jazz.

Sat. late afternoon hunt I'm hunting a friends camp, in a hang on stand med size tree trying to keep my balance. Noticed a doe making noise 50 yards out @ 10 oclock, nice buck behind her with his nose to her. They are quartering to me - she stops in range and he strolls closer. Now he's @ 11 then 12 oclock.25 yards close but behind lots of twigs and the steven king tree. You've all heared it before - but if he took 5 more yards, just 5 yards into the lane I was up. I watched the whole picture come together then she moved off and he turned to follow - the whole picture came apart.
