First-light
Folks, Was talking with a friend and he knows I have a few gorilla tree stands. He told me the cables that run down to the base of the stand can rust out if the plastic coating breaks down. This is happening to stands 3 years and older. Thought it was a good idea to post and alert everyone to check out the plastic coating on the cables. Told me the area to look at is at the bottom where the cable makes an eye and is crimped. This is the area a bolt and a large washer go through to hold it all together. Be safe, FL
Waldershrek
FML I have three Gorilla King Kong HX's. No sign of this yet on mine thank god but they are only 1-2 years old. I do leave my stands up year round though which won't help. Edited November 5, 2013 by Waldershrek
First-light
Water builds up in this area and rusts them out. Bring them in this year for sure.
