GPS app Droid

I've been able to mark pinpoints and rough paths in Google earth which can then be transferred into Google maps using the My Maps feature. For some dumb reason, the latest Google maps upgrade did away with the my maps and layers features, but all I did was uninstall the upgrade and revert to the previous edition. It's not the most precise system, but I tested it this past weekend and it worked well enough to put me within 20 yards of where I needed to be. This is at least free on your phone. There is also an app called back country navigator that is supposed to work more like a true backwoods GPS unit. The downside is I think it's $20 or so to buy the app. If you want, pm me and I can email some of the Google maps I made to see if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

sent from somewhere out there....
