Hand Warmers - which are best?

I gotta say after hunting tonight in the wind that these hot hands are about worthless. One was worked good for about 45 minutes and then died. The other one never even really got hot. I know they say you are supposed to take them out and shake them occasionally to expose them to air and reactivate them but that didn't seem to make a difference.

The new Zippo handwarmers are not like their old fashioned counterparts of yesteryear. I live in Zippo Country (hah) right by Bradford PA and am very loyal to the brand, and I bought one for my dad, but we really disliked the newly manufactured handwarmers. It is really hard to get it to stay lit, even after being replaced once, and when it does it can burn for over 24 hours.... the one we got you have to fill it all the way and let it burn out.  It's very inconsistent in its burn, too, which is frustrating. For the price I would probably suggest alternatives.

My HeatMax handwarmers stay hot for around 6 hours then taper off. Not bad. My HeatMax toe warmers make zero difference. I put 2 in each shoe instead, both over and under toes. Maybe, just maybe a bit warmer. My score, HeatMax handwarmers 1, toe warmers, 0.
