First-light
Now I have only bow hunted out east a few times many years ago. We gun hunted last year and took deer in January. Most bucks have dropped their horns by then. Because what I'm seeing out on the road and on another website I think this just might be the time to start bow hunting again on Long Island. In the last few weeks I have seen road kill deer in places you would not think they live. One huge buck was hit the other night right down the road from me, never thought I would see that. It seems many bowhunter are playing a game "who can pass on the biggest buck" this year. Some really nice deer getting a pass this year with the hopes of finding something bigger. I have seen trail cam picts of really really big deer so these guys know they are out there. You just might find me in a tree out east next year or better yet this year after all the reports I'm seeing!!
shawnhu
With the bonus tag being only good for does, guys are less likely to burn their buck tags on small bucks.
