Rookie
Hey everybody, how's it going? My name is Josh and I am relatively new to waterfowl hunting, both duck and goose. As such, I need some help in terms of decent, public, places to go in the southeastern zone. I am close to the Albany area so the close to that, the better. Any locations, tips, or advice would be much appreciated!!
CuseHunter
I'll be the first to say it, and I'm sure everyone else will chime in too... You need to use the DEC's website and use the interactive map feature. It works well to eliminate some potential areas. But nothing works as good as getting boots on the ground. waterweasle
also make sure to check out the maps for waterfowling, they aren't the same or as easy as southern zone vs northern zone
Rookie
Cusehunter, I went onto the DEC website and checked out the map. What are some different "layers" that I should use to help me zone in on good public waterfowl spots?
CuseHunter
I have 0 waterfowl experience so I don't know what to look for. I'd say look for water or swamp land...
