jr.deerslayer
I'm looking to purchase a airgun to replace a .177 Gamo. I'd like to get the most accurate gun for my maximum price of around $200. I think I'd like to switch to .22 cal too. I would be using the airgun mostly for squirrels and crows. Potentially rats inside of barns where you wouldn't want an overly powerful gun. My Gamo shoots good but is older and not very accurate. I have been looking at the Benjamin Trail NP and like the fact you can leave it cocked for hours without accuracy suffering. Id like to get your opinion on a gun that would best fit my needs thanks.

shawnhu
Wow I'm not sure how i missed that, thanks Probably because we don't have an air gun forum. The nitro piston wasn't designed for improving accuracy, but more for smoother cocking and prevention of spring fatigue. sits in trees
I've always had a fascination with air rifles, I used to own a Wieroucht(check spelling) and also had an RWS that was every bit as powerful as a 22LR....Every s often I look at these air rifles they have today and think I might be getting back into them soon. Pre charged cylinders, 25cal and larger, and I even saw a guy kill a Javalina with one recently...

I can't even parallax adjust down to 5 yards! 10 is my minimum. Being that bad boy out to stretch its legs, like 50-75 yards. Elmo
Wouldn't there be concerns of ricochets at 5 yards at a metallic plate?

And I choose what I have at that time at the basement. But still to penetrate that metal layer surprised me... maybe I did not know better... GLK
Wouldn't there be concerns of ricochets at 5 yards at a metallic plate? Possibly. ..I thought it is a lead pellet so it is quite soft also the metallic surface is a bit rusty and soft too... And I made sure no one around at basement... Anyone within 30 yards to either side should take serious precaution, don't ask me how I know. You're surprisingly much safer that the pellets penetrated, but I can see where there was at least one that didn't. Shoot safe.
