This snowy owl was apparently hit by a bus in downtown Washington late last month. It was taken by police to the National Zoo, where it was treated, according to washingtonpost.com.

The owl suffered a head injury and survived. Treatment included giving the bird pain medication and fluids sub-cutaneously.
