I've been bow hunting for four years and have only shot one doe( last year).  This year I made more time to spend in the woods and I have seen more deer, just not bucks that I want to shot (a few buttons).  I am a little frustrated that I didnt shot at same mature does early, but this year I really wanted a buck.  How do you guys feel the later part of the season is here on the Island.  I will be hunting weekends and vactions, I'm a teacher.  Should I still have high hopes or just enjoy my time in the woods.  Thanks for the advice.

Bart,

I think you should stick it out til the very end.  You never know what can happen out there unless your there.  Some does that haven't been bred will come into heat again and the doe fawns usually come into heat a bit later in the season so its far from over.  December is the time to key back to food because this is what the bucks will be doing.  They need to put back on all the weight they lost during the rut.  Hunt hard until the end, watch your scent, dont burn out your stands by overhunting, and listen to your brother in law. :D
