I just shot my first crow this year. I have hunted for them in the past but never had any success. I plan on doing some crow hunting later this year. I have been listening closely to their calls while I am deer hunting. I am decent at calling them in but struggle with the shooting part. Now that I have shot clay pigeons in the past year I am going to give it a shot again.

Its a great time not as easy as you would think though.  They are really smart birds that are wary all times of the day (when they're hungry in the morning is when they are the most vulnerable).  Watch flocks of thousands head to the city to roost at night so I will be doing my part to conrtol the pop. after deer season.  I'm gonna try and use it as a training session for my pup.  Its almost the same thing as duck hunting except with crows.

It can be extremely easy, I've shot hundreds just by pass shooting them when they came low over the house with nothing more than bluejeans and a pocket of shells. On the other hand when we get seriuos the head to toe camo comes out along with the decoys, caller and mojo hawk.

Pass shooting them as they go over the house, done that as well, but I don't really consider that crow hunting thats more along the lines of crow shooting lol.  I was talking more along the serious lines, your blue jeans kinda stick out in a snowy hedgerow lol.

Ya pass shooting is fun when you dont have much time. We also do it for real though, and they are extremely wary, I believe sometimes more so than ducks or geese.

Not a serious hunter but have shot a boat load of em. In ny and Pa. Some of the farms we hunt are sick with em! Especially when the manure is spread. I have used predator calls for them both hand held and electronic. Good way to work on wing shooting skills.
