Rainy day mixed bag

Hunted a partially cut corn field in the rain today with three friends.

 

Turned out pretty good with a mixed bag of mallards and geese.

This the first time we have killed mallards over corn in many years. They were fresh migrators and pounded that field for several days straight.

 

I wanted to hunt 'toga tomorrow but it is iced in by the launch so that does it for the year on the lake.

 

May hunt geese on Sunday if I can find some birds.

We hunted fish creek just off the lake yesterday. Not a ton of mallards and we saw a ton of geese but mostly high flyers heading south. I'm hoping the warmer weather might keep a few around for next weekend.
