Rub line

I found 3 rubs on 4" trees with in 50' circle. New to hunting and really don't know how to read them. I presume they are last years.

Typically if it's fresh it will be obvious. You will see the bark on top of the leaves

The tree is healing so I know they are not fresh should I have a stand there to try to get lucky this year

Should be showing up I seen one were it rubbed velvet off yesterday

Would that spot be a staging area? It is close to a small creek, I was taking it a trail junction. Have not seen any scrapes near by.

Don't rely on luck.

 

And I personally wouldn't hunt a rub from last year. I have found one rub this year so far. You will be able to tell if there fresh. Find travel paths look for the clear sign like marks were they walked and piles of crap. Go from there.
