Cabin Fever
Went out and checked ~10 crabapple & wild pear trees today around a couple stands. Only 1 out of 10 trees had any fruit. Looks like it's gonna be one of those years... On a positive note, the cornfields seem to be doing great despite the lack of rain this summer. wooly
The fruit trees here are hit or miss again this year it seems. Some are loaded, and some are bare. I was at my buddies over the July 4'th weekend in South Dayton and EVERYTHING was producing massive loads! Berries, apples, pears, crabapples, rasberries, strawberries... One of his neighbors got into raising bees this year so that may have something to do with it. Unfortunately his dog likes to eat them off the lawn clover, and it's almost impossible to walk across the grass bare foot without getting nailed once or twice on the way to the pool, so the colony may be in jeopardy, lol
