I planted part of the fall garden yesterday. I have the garden divided up into 4 sections.

Grapes & blueberries

Then 3 rotational sections. The back one has most all my veggies.Once they are well into harvest I will loosen all the soil around the plants and lay down red clover. In the middle section Half had red clover growing and I just cut and tilled it in.This is where I planted more beans, broccoli, cukes, and Two more dozen tomato plants given me. The other half got red clover. In the front section I put in a fenced strawberry patch, all my greens, carrots, beets, pickling cukes. This.s is one end,the middle has garlic and clover. The other end weeds.Today I will dig the garlic, mow clover and weeds then till. In the fall I will lay down WW or WR. plant garlic some place.

The clover and grains help soil and suppress weeds, but also the deer can't resist eating inside the garden fence. Even though the garden is completely surrounded by clover/alfalfa,clover/grass,turnps. So I open the gate and let them eat there pooping away adding more fertilizer once all harvest is done. I Have stands set up 10 yrds either side of the garden at one end and forty yrds off either end. It took me years of fighting them with fences.to realize if It's not them then it's something else that will cause me problems...So now I relax my brain and let them work for me. Biggest action I saw last year were Fox hunting rodents and rabbits in the garden.bucks walk perimeter . And fawn/doe hang inside the fence.

Well I just got done putting up 3 bags of beet greens and I'm in the process of parboiling the beets so I can remove the skin...

I have to go get my second and last harvest of spinach off my second planting...here's to hoping 3rd. planting does as well, this rain today was perfect....Then it's working on putting up the Swiss chard...which also grew fantastic,  hhhmmm can't forget Mr B's. collard greens...Oh dang he wanted those tonite...I best get a move on... and  all squash and melons now have flowers... too cool...I wasn't sure they would grow fast enough with this lack of rain....Now the busy time starts...pickles to make and I now have 70 + tomato plants growing and 56  with fruit...A new jalapeno pepper that boast being the most productive on the market,so far it is...and my swt pepper plants lost first blossoms, but have made up for it . I have tiny peppers there as well... 30#'s off blue berries and that's just two bushes out of 11....7 that are in production right now. I think I will put up a few jars of blueberry juice....
