Mosin Nagant

I just purchased a Mosin and would like to put a scope on it.  Can anyone advise me as to a good base and scope.  Thank you

The MN is a a robust and accurate battle rifle, and the 7.62  X 54 is a very capable round for most any game in North America.

However, the split receiver tends to make conventional scope mounting somewhat problematic.

If you want to hunt deer with your MN, I would recommend practicing with the existing open sights.

There are options for mounting optical sights, and you might explore them with a search on some of the military rifle forums..
