Hunting with flir

Hey guys as I am sure some of you have seen the use of flir binos and scopes working their way into the hunting community! They recently came out with a spotting scope for around $600 and I was wondering if people are using these out in the field for hunting during the night as well as the day. Is it going to far? My buddy has one we use for yotes in the winter. It's pretty cool but the real good thermo's are thousands.
