I was watching the Viet Nam War on PBS last night . They discussed how crappy the M-16 was for the troops . It would get dirty and jam . Bad news in a fire fight . We had the M-14 in the latter part of my enlistment which I didn't care for at all . The M-1 was the best rifle ever !
