Using Decoy

Just curious what peoples experiences are with using a Buck decoy this time of year..   Always wanted to try but haven't..

Also, any suggestions on one to buy without braking the bank?

I used one once in my entire career and a beautiful buck tore up the woods next to the field I was in before coming out. He was all bristled up and sort of side stepped to the decoy, snort wheezing, the whole show! I was at full draw for so long I dropped my arm and shot under him lol. One mistake I made was setting the decoy between me and where the buck came out so he was looking my way as he approached and I couldnt draw. If you know where he might likely come from make sure he has to go by you to get to the decoy giving you a quartering away shot
