A Georgia Police Officer on the Airedale message board does Deer recovery with his female Airedale Grizz had a tough one to find having to slog through a big swamp to track down and recover a nice Buck. Airedales as a breed were developed from crossing Terriers with the Otter Hound, a dog that could follow in the water scent trails of Otters swimming underwater and detecting air bubbles that rose to the surface from their bodies. That breeding background came in handy on this one. Those Georgia swamps are dangerous as they can have Alligators lurking in them, hunting dogs get killed by them every year.
