My brother-in-law set me this video from his cam. Look closely as it is a short video. Looks to me like road rash or coyotes...more than likely road rash:

Too bad he was head on to the camera, makes it hard to really tell. But, for what it's worth I think you're right and he got rolled by a vehicle. In any case, it looks like he wasn't badly injured.
