RifleSharpShot
Im just using egg sacks with a small hook right now bright colered ones seem to be doing the trick..but i seen people using beads to,I'll stick to the egg sacks.

wdswtr
I live right on the salmon near Altmar. There are a decent amount in the river nothing mind blowing though. lots of dying salmon doing the dying dance. You can watch them just rolling and splashing on the water. Place smells terrible from the dead fish. Its very early for good steelhead fishing. Come January if you think its good now you will be mind blown then in January. Eggs sacs this time of year are a good bet, my favorite color is purple. Light line and terminal tackle is best water is low and clear and lots of fishing pressure on the river yet so makes for some spooked fish. When they open the gates up a bit it will bring in a nice fresh run and fishing will be better. I have been averagiing 3 steelhead each time out. Come january those numbers will go up, way up. Thats when I switch over to stone flys.

wdswtr
Rain brought it up to 1000cfm thankfully. It is suppose to go back down monday at midnight. I hope it drops to 500 cfm and stays there for a bit. 500 to 750 is premo. I didnt fish the 1000 but it should of brought alot of fresh steel into the river. They were staged in the lake just waiting. Should be a great week on the river.
