Doewhacker
There are lots of closed trails and areas where the damage is real bad up in the high peaks, this is bad for every one from hunters to hikers and especially bad for the folks that depend on tourist for money. I personaly love the high peaks area and have hiked in alot of the places affected, I can't imagine how long it will take to restore the trails and bridges in some of these remote areas. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9198.html I have stood on the bidge that is no longer there at the bottom, it is @2.5 miles from the main road. http://blog.timesunion.com/adirondacks/state-closes-high-peaks-trails/951/ http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/N/NY_IRENE_BACKCOUNTRY_NYOL-?SITE=NYSCH&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
