I'm getting my first NYS hunting license shortly to hunt small game, primarily rabbit, woodchuck and grouse. Is anyone familiar with some good spots in region 7 / Tompkins County (I'm closest to 7R and 7H) and can suggest some good spots? Are there any local clubs or groups in those areas?

Potato Hill State Forest in Caroline. Access is from Blackman Hill Road and Level Green Road. The DEC clearcut the red pine plantations about 10 years ago and it is thick with beech brush, briars and rose bushes. Great small game habitat and lots of grouse.
