Grouse
In New York, there's a saying for almost anything. For example: a New York conservative is a liberal who's been burglarized- twice. If that's the case, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, a perennial supporter of gun control, may be half-way to that epiphany. Seems the seventy-three year old Breyer was robbed last week in his vacation home in the West Indies. According to a Supreme Court spokesperson, a man with a machete broke into the Breyer residence and confronted Breyer, his wife and guests. After making off with about $1,000 the intruder left. No one was hurt in the incident. The U.S. Marshals Service and the Supreme Court Police are "assisting local authorities with the investigation." So what will this personal violation do to Justice Breyer and his feelings on crime and justice. Personally, I hope it gets the heretofore close-minded liberal to consider the fact that self-defense might be a little more valuable than he's previously thought. Doug Ritter at Knife Rights disagrees. He's written that he expects Breyer to issue an anti-machete opinion. I don't want to make too-light of the situation, but I'm afraid he's probably right. Justice Breyer, like Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg (a mugging victim) is a bit close-minded when it comes to issues like the individual interpretation of the Second Amendment. hunterman7956
If the people that make the laws just lived amongst us then maybe they would understand why we believe in the 2nd amendment. Let them come to brownsville or east new york and walkaround those neighborhoods they will wish they had a gun then.!
