TheFieldArcher
2012 APA Sidewinder HE2 Bow Specs: Speed: 333 FPS Axle to Axle Length: 30″ Brace Height: 7” Draw Length: 25.5″-31.5” Peak Draw Weights: 40, 50, 60, 70 lbs. Weight: 3.4 lbs. Let-Off: 75% MSRP: $679.90 The APA Sidewinder HE2 is an awesome short, light, fast bow. Set up for hunting the bow is pretty quiet for such a light bow and has almost no vibration (with Limbsaver cable guard and suppressor rod dampeners, also installed a Stabilizer). The 3.4 pound lightweight is great for still hunting big game and hunting the fields for chucks all day. The short 30" ATA (actually measures 30.25" ) makes it great for ground blinds and the 7" brace height makes it very forgiving. The bow has 75% let off and holds very nice, very smooth draw and drawing 70 pounds feels like 60! and it won't want to rip your arm out of the socket if you creep a bit. Through the Chrony she shot a 350 grain arrow 307 FPS at 70 pounds and 29" draw. Other features: The BM cam has holes in it so you can step on the string, pull the bow up and stick a pin in one of the holes and it releases tension off of the string, no bow press required for changing strings, adding a peep, silencers etc.. The "fang" is for hanging your bow on a limb while in a treestand or on the ground. The bow also has a tool area on the riser, built in broadhead wrench and nock turn tool. The finish on the bow is very nice and smooth. This is a great bow for the money, I would put it up there with similar bows in the $800.00 range. The only thing that I could see being a problem is if you want to use a QAD, Apache or similar drop away rest, the shelf is not flat and the cable guard is in the way if you like your QAD against the riser, the QAD and Apache style will not fit without modifications. You can use the QAD Ultra Rest set back like an overdraw, but it is very loud! I went with a Whisker Biscuit and it works great, quiet too.
