The mineral rights on the land where my camp is were sold in the 70's. When I bought it in 2010, I was also concerned about it. However, there were gas wells and a pipeline already in place on my property and all the neighboring ones. Because of the spacing requirements, nothing more can be added. The fact that mineral rights were already sold made the land a steal for a recreational property. I have never seen anyone from the gas company on my land except for the yellow pipeline markers being replaced a few years back. The only "mineral" interest in central NY is the natural gas from the Marcellus Shale. Unless fracking is legalized in NY, no one is going to drill more of these low producing gas wells. I am glad the mineral rights issue didn't stop me from buying. If I had remained hung up on it, I may never have afforded a property big enough to make me happy. No regrets at all. Oh, and I make about $80 a year in royalties.

have received a couple of emails from Cheaper Than Dirt. They have 9mm and 243 in stock. 9mm are $1 - $1.50 a round depending on if you want steel or brass casing.

H.R. 127 gun law text released

Probably not muzzleloaders. the projectile is not considered ammunition. However, this would ban ammo for the 50 BMG and even the S&W 500 I assume. -

Every firearm and ammunition is covered under this disastrous piece of legislation. An additional and even more restrictive section of "military style" weapons is there as well. -

Grouse, forget hell, they are trying to make it 3650 cold days in prison for you and me. Mandatory psychological exams, minimum fines of $50,000 and minimum 10 years in prison for knowingly violating. $800 fee to get this license to exercise your constitutionally protected right (plus whatever your psychological exam costs). Oh, and the psychologist can request to examine any family members if they see fit. By far the most intrusive and restrictive piece of gun legislation ever introduced. Even lefties on the supreme court should see this as flagrant violation of constitutional law. The author of this bill should be punished for attempting to subvert the constitutional rights of the American people. -
